What this record is. Each row compares the update
cadence a dataset advertises in its own portal metadata against the last update time
that same portal reports. Nothing here is a claim of wrongdoing, and nothing here is scraped
from a third party — every figure is recomputable from the portal's own public API in seconds
using the link in the row. Datasets whose own titles say they are historical or cover a closed
period are excluded from the headline and listed separately.
Method: Socrata catalog API; advertised Update-Frequency vs measured data_updated_at; frozen >3x the advertised budget; self-labeled historical excluded; bounded-period datasets reported separately as label bugs, not abandoned feeds
Producer: core/govdata_national_merge.cjs · recompute boundary 2026-10-28T14:30:00.000Z
· record is 9.2 hours old.
Of 131 datasets on this portal that advertise an update
cadence, 19 (14.5%) were last updated longer ago than that
cadence allows. 1 self-labeled historical datasets were excluded.
The longest-running gap is 5.7 years.
Label bugs on finished datasets (1)
These datasets carry a recurring cadence label but their own titles state a
closed coverage period, and their data stops where their titles say it stops. The data is not
abandoned — the cadence label on it is simply wrong. Listed separately and excluded from the
count above.
